Switching to Redmine

After many years of good work with Trac, I've finally decided to replace it by Redmine.

Trac is a really good product but lacks of many interesting features (like the multi-projects one). Redmine seems to be a good candidate and is more simple to deploy.

The new project page is available here : Modoboa redmine instance.

Many thanks to the state-of-mind team who provide a lot of help to achieve the migration :-)

Online demo available!

At last, an online demonstration of Modoboa is available for testing! It is gracefully hosted here, many thanks to Patrick Koetter.

A link to the demo has been added on this page, into the right column.

The content is resetted every two hours, you'll be able to test almost everything. If you find any issue and if you want to discuss about functionalities, do not hesitate! You can post to the mailing list or join the IRC channel #modoboa on freenode.

Virtual machine update

The virtual machine image has been updated due to an issue with gunicorn startup. This service was not started correctly, the result was that modoboa could not be accessed.

For those who do not want to download the whole image again, you can just apply the following modification to your existing image.

Sorry for the noise...

Next plugin : sieve filters!

According the first poll results, I've begun to work on the next plugin that will let users define server-side messages filters.

A first development release is available into the repository (here) or with the latest development tarball (here). Currently, it only provides a raw editor and a managesieve client. The result is that you can write your filters inside Modoboa (if you're familiar with sieve syntax) and upload them to your server.

Soon, I'll add a more simple editor (with an intuitive UI).

It has been tested successfully with Dovecot 1.2.9.

Hope you'll enjoy ...

Modoboa's documentation has been completed with explanations on how to write custom plugins. I hope it is clear enough, do not hesitate to give feedback about it.

Here is a direct link for the lazy ones ;-).

Online documentation

The next release of Modoboa is coming soon and at last, I've taken the time to create an online documentation. I'm using sphinx to generate the HTML part.

You can browse it here. There is also a link on this page (look at the 'Links' box on the right column).

Currently it contains only explanations about installation and integration with other components. I'll add content about how to extend Modoboa with plugins soon.
